Hoods, Colour and Satisfaction

Did you know that colour plays an important role in the satisfaction of using kitchen utensils?

Well, they do!

These are the conclusions reached by researchers from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), in the paper “Color influence on the use satisfaction of kitchen utensils: An ergonomic and perceptual study” (downloadable HERE).

Alright, alright… only 150 women (not catering professionals) were interviewed, and the utensils in question were just a garlic peeler and a potato masher. But that’s a small start, right?

Jokes aside, no more experiments are needed to confirm that the aesthetic sense benefits satisfaction and productivity (there are already plenty of them!).
And more: it does give a touch to the kitchen of your restaurant, especially if it is an “open kitchen“.
