And here’s another ranking published by the useful and interesting site TasteAtlas.
This time users were invited to vote for the city where you can taste the best local food.
And I’m sure the ranking will be a bit of a controversial topic…
Among the top 100 places we find:
– 24 cities from the USA
– 15 from Italy (of which, forgive my uncalled for patriotism, 4 in the Top Ten)
– 5 from Mexico, Spain and Poland
– 4 from Brazil
– 3 from France (which will probably upset our cousins from beyond the Alps…), from Greece (which, considering its small size compared to other countries, is an excellent result!) and from Japan.
But what is local food? Food from locally harvested or farmed produce?
Well, I don’t think so (and I could give dozens of examples).
Rather food cooked according to traditional local recipes? This maybe yes.
But in the age of the internet and information that travels freely from one end of the world to the other, how long can we still talk about local traditions?
However, there is not a single city from Lebanon (whose national cuisine is exquisite!), not a single African city, nor one from Belgium or Ireland (evidently the beers are not taken into account…)
Oh, almost forget… traditional recipes or not, cook using Inox Bim equipment!
