Cutlery is a devil’s tool.
At least the forks are.
This was said by Pier Damiani, theologian, then bishop, then cardinal, then Saint venerated by the Catholic Church.
Pier, who died approximately 950 years ago, was a tenacious advocate of the “sancta semplicitas“, holy simplicity.
The study of the nature and the world was nothing more than a vain curiosity, since there is no need to investigate the “why of things”, but only to admire them as the creation of divine power.
So no study, no love (Pier wrote two encyclicals against homosexuality and against the marriage of churchmen), and no forks.
Because the use of the fork meant “softness and diabolical perversion“. And its shape resembled the pitchfork, the devil’s favorite weapon.
Yeah, he really wrote that…
However, today the use of cutlery is not prohibited (to my knowledge) by any religion.
Nor the use of catering equipment.
And, as for the latter, feel free to ask if you need any.
