Pareidolia, Seagulls and Extractor Hoods

Have you ever heard of pareidolia?

In a nutshell, it is a psychological phenomenon that causes us to see familiar shapes, such as animals, human silhouettes, faces, or even objects, in completely random forms.

Do you know when we look at clouds and recognize bunnies, motorcycles, or who knows what else? Well, that illusion is called pareidolia.

Now: years ago, at Aluminox someone conceived a type of hood with more pronounced shapes, with continuous welding of the joints that highlighted its particular geometry.

For some reason, the profile of the new hood reminded the R&D guys of a “seagull”. Hence, its name Gabbiano (literally “seagull” in Italian).

I don’t know exactly why or how. Maybe the company’s proximity to the sea played this trick on a subconscious level.
Anyway… whether it reminds you of a seagull, a tuna or a rhinoceros, it doesn’t matter.

The “seagull” hood is perfect for your kitchen.

And a great aesthetic touch if this is one of the “open” kind!
