There is a small restaurant inside the Royal Castle of Balmoral, Scotland: the Mews Café.
And now, by direct request of King Charles III, a well-known lover of Italian cuisine, pizza will also be served there!
As a matter of fact, a new line of pizzas for the invention of which, it is rumored, King Charles himself gave his contribution!
Nothing too elegant: pizzas served in cardboard boxes, which can be eaten on the park benches, or warmly on the café tables.
A price range ranging from £13 to £15.
Not exactly modest, but not unaffordable either.
And reading the first reviews, they were also quite good!
But let’s get to the point that interests us most: what kind of pizzas?
Well, the “queen” of pizzas could not be missing: Margherita.
Then a vegetarian version (it is known that Charles III is a proud health-conscious vegetarian).
Pepperoni, a must on the menus of pizzerias in Anglo-Saxon countries.
And finally, the Balmoral, which, in honor of the location, has typically Scottish toppings: chicken, bacon and… haggis.
For those who don’t know what haggis is: a type of pudding composed of the liver, heart, and lungs of a sheep, minced and mixed with beef or mutton suet and oatmeal and seasoned with onion, cayenne pepper, and other spices.
Your mouth is watering already, huh?
Jokes aside, to each their own tastes!
And I’ll spare you the comments of Italian food-fascists that you read on social media…
