During the works for the construction of a McDonald’s in Frattocchie, just outside Rome, in 2014, an ancient Roman road came to light.
It was a secondary road, that probably connected a small village (or the property of a Patrician) with the Via Appia (Appian Way), one of the busiest roads in the Roman Empire.
And the most curious thing is that the McDonald’s was built above this road, preserving it.
So, today you can eat hamburgers and fries while admiring the mastery of Roman engineers.
As well as something that maybe doesn’t whet the appetite that much… three skeletons of men, dated to around the second century after Christ.
